Temple I is part of the Gran Plaza complex. It's a very imposing structure, one of the images featuring Tikal's iconic pictures. Climbing the temple is prohibited.Full review by Ron S

Located on the Gran Plaza it's a famous edifice featuring most of iconic Tikal pictures. You can climb to the upper platform. The wooden staircase is located in the back of the pyramid.Full review by Ron S

Hi Francis, Someone has mentioned that was traveling through the jungle to be able to get to this temple. Do I need special shots before my trip, because of the jungle? Usually when you are going to visit the jungle, it's required to get the shots.... Please advise. Thank you RomanP

We had all shots advised by a specific travel doctor in Australia. We also took the strongest bug spray - high in DEET - there are lots of mozzies, so need protection at dusk & dawn. Take lots of water to drink while walking around the temple too
