Capitol Police arrested a staffer for Sen. Cory Booker who was carrying a gun Monday evening, as the New Jersey Democrat kicked off a marathon “filibuster” in the upper chamber.
The man, listed as a special assistant for Sen. Cory Booker, was stopped right as the New Jersey Republican was preparing to hold the floor for his marathon speech.
A staffer for Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) was arrested by Capitol Police just before the senator began his marathon speech on the Senate floor. Kevin Batts, 59, was arrested by Capitol Police for carrying a pistol without a license.
