Grand Rapids police captain defends officer Christopher Schurr in Patrick Lyoya killing
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A Grand Rapids police captain defended former officer Christopher Schurr’s fatal shooting of a motorist Patrick Lyoya. Capt. David Siver, who trains officers in use of force, testified for the defense that Schurr’s escalation to deadly force “was reasonable, a reasonable officer could perform the same way in that situation.”
