A Waffle House worker is expressing concern over the recent egg surcharge the restaurant is passing onto its customers.

LEBANON, Tenn. (WKRC) - Cracker Barrel called out competitor Waffle House over its recently-implemented egg surcharge. Tennessee-based Cracker Barrel had some fightin' words for Georgia-based competitor Waffle House over the 24-hour diner's new .50 egg surcharge.

The chain announced the change by slapping stickers on its menus, informing customers of a 50-cent surcharge per egg, effective this week. The restaurant's two-egg breakfast, which comes with toast and a side, was listed at $7.75 on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.

The 100,000 eggs were snatched from the back of Pete & Gerry’s Organics’ distribution trailer on Saturday about 8:40 p.m. in Antrim Township, according to police. They are worth about $40,000, which means this crime is a felony, Frazer said.

The theft was reported Saturday night of 100,000 organic eggs worth more than $40,000 from a distribution trailer in south-central Pennsylvania.

About $40,000 worth of eggs were taken from a trailer belonging to Pete and Gerry’s Organics, police said. U.S. wholesale egg prices are at a record high.
