The Dow ends flat but S&P 500 and Nasdaq add to their steep post-election gains after the Fed trims rates and hints at more though pace is uncertain.

Wall Street's three major indexes rose on Wednesday after October data showed consumer prices rising in line with expectations, adding support to bets that the U.S. Federal Reserve will cut interest rates in December.

On Thursday, at the end of its November meeting, the Fed announced a reduction of 0.25 percentage points in the federal funds rate, or the rate at which banks lend each other money overnight. The move follows an initial cut of half a percentage point in September.
