The Texas Longhorns took many fans by surprise on Thursday with the announcement that the program will be parting ways with defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkows

The move to fire Pete Kwiatkowski and hire Will Muschamp has many layers but bottom line is Steve Sarkisian is serious about getting back to CFP.

Texas announced Thursday it has fired defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski after his fifth season with the Longhorns and brought back former defensive coordinater Will Muschamp to replace him. The Longhorns also fired defensive pass game coordinator Duane Akina after one season.

The Texas Longhorns are parting ways with two defensive coaches, including defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski.
