Boston is finalizing a contract with Nathaniel Lowe and could have him in the lineup before Monday’s game against the Orioles, according to major league sources. Lowe, a former Silver Slugger and Gold Glove winner, will be on a one-year major league deal for the rest of the season.
Boston’s new first baseman isn’t in Monday’s Red Sox lineup, which has a newly returned player in the leadoff spot.
