Rep. Don Bacon defended Trump's $4 trillion tax bill, arguing its middle-class benefits while addressing GOP concerns over Medicaid cuts and mounting deficit fears.

After weeks of deliberation, the Senate passed its version of the Trump tax bill on Tuesday. In the approved package, there are several major changes to Medicaid, which would lead to deeper spending cuts than the version passed by the House.

During his meeting with GOP holdouts, Trump had to be informed that his budget bill did indeed kick Americans off Medicaid, according to NOTUS. “But we’re touching Medicaid in this bill,” one member reportedly responded to Trump.
