He will fill the role currently held by Becky Walker, who has served as the interim president of Xavier Catholic Schools since December. Tyrrell's appointment comes after multiple changes in Xavier's leadership during the first half of the school year.

A few months after a series of shake-ups in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System's upper echelon, the system has named a new president.

The school system informed parents via email that they had hired Terrence 'Terry' Tyrrell. He most recently served as President at Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
