The festivities at Burning Man this year have been marred by not just one, but two tragic incidents. On the first day of the iconic festival, 39-year-old Kendra Frazer was discovered dead.

This year's Burning Man festival runs from Aug. 25 to Sept. 2. About 80,000 people attend Burning Man each year, according to the festival's website.

An estimated 20,000 people were already on the playa before the gates opened. Burning Man runs through Sept. 2 with organizers expecting more than 70,000 people to attend this year’s event.
