The last time a Memphis football player was taken in the NFL draft was 2022. That could change this year with strong showings at the scouting combine.

The relative infrequency — and unpredictability — of owning the No. 1 pick raises questions: Should the Titans, in need of a quarterback, use their prime position to select one, assuming a player like Miami's Cam Ward or Colorado's Shedeur Sanders would at least be better than what the team has now in Will Levis?

We saw this a few years ago during the 2022 NFL Draft when Kenny Pickett was the only quarterback taken in the first round, and he went 20th to the Steelers. That was a QB class widely considered to be weak.

Right now the film is speaking for many players, but the combine will affect stocks for better or worse, so this can be an organic exercise.
