Several cars were damaged after debris fell off a pickup truck on the Edens Expressway Wednesday morning, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.

A car carrier overturned on the Long Island Expressway near Syosset around noon Thursday, temporarily closing all lanes westbound and backing up westbound traffic for about a mile near Exit 44, according to the New York De partment of Transportation. By 4 p.m. all lanes had been reopened, Nassau police said.

A car hit and killed a pedestrian on the Eisenhower Expressway on Chicago's West Side early Sunday morning.

After hitting a median on James River Expressway, the driver got out of the car and was hit as another car tried to avoid the stopped vehicle.
