Why Ex-Detroit Mayor Suddenly Quit Michigan Gov. Race

Michigan State Police say it is investigating a shooting on M-39 near Joy Road in Detroit Thursday night. MSP says troopers expect the freeway to be closed for several hours. It is unclear what led to the shooting and if anyone was injured. MSP did not release any additional information at this time.

Storms ripped through parts of Michigan Tuesday afternoon, damaging structures, downing trees and wires and closing two metroparks in Metro Detroit. Severe thunderstorm warnings and special weather statements were issued Tuesday for portions of southeast Michigan as storms pushed northeast across the region.
