Live Nation and Ticketmaster has reached a settlement with federal authorities over its practices that accused the ticket giant for monopolizing the live events music industry, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The Justice Department has settled its antitrust suit against Ticketmaster and Live Nation, accused of stifling competition and raising prices, as trial loomed.

NFL free agency officially begins at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, with the start of the new league year. But as of Monday at noon ET, when the legal negotiation window opened, teams can now agree to terms with players.

Two trades are near agreement, if not completed, with less than three hours until the opening of the free-agent negotiation period.
