A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place Monday night as the last of a line of storms moves through the D.C. area.
According to NBC 5 Storm Team Meteorologist Alicia Roman, Friday morning's rain will be the first of two stormy waves to hit the Chicago area. The first round was expected to move mostly across northern Illinois and impact far north and west counties, along with areas in southeastern Wisconsin.
The National Weather Service in Sterling says if you are in a tornado warning area, take cover now and move inside to either a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of the building. Anyone outside, in a car or a mobile home, should move to the nearest substantial shelter. Stay away from windows.
