Faith leaders and clergy arrested at Minneapolis airport during anti-ICE protest demanding airlines refuse federal immigration enforcement cooperation.
Protesters staged a “sit-in” at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP) International Airport on Friday over deportation flights as immigration agents snatch violent migrant criminals from Minnesota.
St. Paul International Airport sought this week to tamp down on reports that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents would be making broad sweeps of passenger areas.
Feben Ghilagaber, a server who said she has worked at MSP for more than 20 years, read aloud the names of 12 people she says were arrested and told commissioners that only two had been released, according to CBS Minnesota.
"I'm a citizen and I'm very scared to be here," said Feben Ghilagaber, who has worked at the airport as a server for more than 20 years.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents will begin checking documents of travelers and workers at MSP airport, with patrols inside jet bridges.
