JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves issued a state of emergency ahead of this weekend’s potential winter storm. The state of emergency will last at least until Jan. 27. This will allow the state to further mobilize state assets and better support response efforts in counties affected by the impending storm.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — As officials work to clear stranded motorists from Interstate 55 and Interstate 22 in North Mississippi as a result of the impact of winter weather, the Mississippi Department of Safety released an update on progress. MDS said that it will divert traffic off of the affected routes to the Tennessee state line:
