Golf legend Tiger Woods announced on Saturday that he underwent lumbar disc replacement surgery in New York, marking his seventh back operation in a career increasingly defined by physical setbacks.

Tiger Woods said on Saturday he has had lumbar disc replacement surgery to address severe back issues, the latest setback in a string of injuries that have stalled his return to the PGA Tour.

It is the second time Woods has undergone back surgery in just over a year, having had an operation on his lumbar spine in September 2024 to relieve a nerve impingement of his lower back.
