SABULA, Iowa — The Savanna-Sabula bridge was closed most of Thursday as crews cleaned up peat moss dumped when a semitrailer flipped Wednesday night on the highway leading to the bridge.
The overflow bridge over the backwaters of the Mississippi River on the north edge of Sabula, Iowa, has been closed, according to a news release from the Iowa Department of Transportation.
