ARLINGTON, Texas — When we see lake effect snow flying off of the Great Lakes in the Midwest and Northeast, it can bury folks in FEET of snow. In North Texas, it's really just a few, glittery flurries and steam blowing off of our area lakes. It happened today at Lake Arlington. Our photojournalist, Josh Stephen caught some video:

A break from the snow? Lake effect continues today with arctic blast approaching this weekend
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Heavy lake effect snow will continue across Northeast Ohio Thursday, creating hazardous travel conditions throughout the Cleveland snowbelt region. The most intense snowfall is expected through midday before gradually diminishing from west to east this evening.
Northern Indiana authorities reported several crashes on ice-covered major roads and interstates amid sub-zero windchills and lake effect snow across the region Friday. Snow showers were expected in Northern Indiana until around 4 p.

The National Weather Service office in Albany has issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning for Northern Herkimer County in effect until 7:00PM Friday. The Lake Effect Snow Warning is in addition to Winter Weather Advisory until 1:00PM Friday in the same Northern Herkimer County area.
Lake-effect snow continues to hammer parts of Michigan as Arctic air remains locked over the Great Lakes, keeping snow bands active and dangerous wind chills.

Bitter cold weekend with a lake effect snow chance
Today: A cold weather advisory is in effect until noon. Wind chills will stay 20-30 degrees below zero. Still bitterly cold, but winds will be lighter this afternoon. Highs near 8 with wind chills staying below zero.
The entire Philadelphia area from the Shore to the Poconos is under this winter storm warning for heavy snow and sleet from 2 a.m. Sunday Morning through 1 p.m. Monday Afternoon.High temperatures Saturday across the region range from the low 20s across South Jersey to the single digits in the Poconos.
