Senior officials from the U.S. and Russia meet in Saudi Arabia on improving ties and ending the war in Ukraine - but Ukraine isn't invited.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he did not know about U.S.-Russia talks in Saudi Arabia and "will not accept" them.

Russia said Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov would hold talks with top U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, on Tuesday that will focus on ending the war in Ukraine and restoring broader Russia-U.

Three years into the war, Ukrainians are eager for an end to the conflict but see no alternative to continuing to resist Moscow’s invasion, even if the West abandons them.
