BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Bills on Sunday released pass rusher Von Miller ahead of the league year. The move opens up $8.4 million in cap space, helping the team to get under the cap before the new league year, which starts Wednesday. The team is open to bringing back Miller, who turns 36 on March 26, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Shortly after securing their future at the pass rushing position, the Bills are moving on from a veteran at the same position. According to a joint report from NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero,

Miller, 36, played 13 games for Buffalo last season, registering six sacks with 17 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and 32 total pressures. Cutting him will save the Bills $8.5 million on their salary cap. Miller and the Bills are open to him rejoining the team, according to Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport.

Von Miller has been released by the Buffalo Bills in a financially motivated move in the middle of his 6-year deal with the club.

The Broncos already have a four-player pass rush rotation, so it's hard to imagine them having room to add Von Miller.
