A painting by an AI robot of the eminent World War Two codebreaker Alan Turing has sold for a record $1.3m (£1m) at auction. Sotherby's said there were 27 bids for the digital art sale of "A.I. God", which had been originally estimated to sell for between $120,000 (£9,252) and $180,000 (£139,000).

A robot named Ai-Da used its algorithms, camera vision, and robotic arm to create a portrait of AI pioneer Alan Turing. Sotheby's thought it would go for a max of $180,000.
