BOSTON — The sale of the Boston Celtics was finalized on Tuesday, with private equity mogul Bill Chisholm taking over control of the NBA’s most-decorated franchise from a group led by Wyc Grousbeck that had owned them for more than two decades.

The group led by former Boston Celtics minority owner Steve Pagliuca is reportedly working with the Connecticut Sun's current owners, the Mohegan tribal nation, to salvage the sale of the team with the WNBA,

Further details of the Celtics sale, including more co-owners, were released by the team following approval from the NBA's Board of Governors.
