There is a new highest-paid tight end in the NFL. That title now belongs to George Kittle, who agreed to a mammoth contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers, according to the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast, CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones confirms.

The 49ers disappointingly finished last in the NFC West with a 6-11 record, but Kittle was one of the team's few bright spots. The 31-year-old put forth a strong season with 78 catches for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns across 15 games on his way to earning his sixth career Pro Bowl selection and second-team All-Pro honors.
