DETROIT. (WILX) - Detroit Pistons’ star guard Cade Cunningham was named to his first All-Star game on Thursday night. Cunningham didn’t make the fan vote to be a starter, but was named a reserve player for the Eastern Conference.

The NBA head coaches have to pick two guards, three frontcourt players and two "wild card" players at any position for the reserves. The West All-Stars have five frontcourt reserves in Davis, Jackson Jr., Sengun, Wembanyama and Jalen Williams.

It’s a well-deserved honor for Cunningham; the former No. 1 pick has lifted the Pistons into the playoff picture in the East amid a breakout season.

Love has had a solid college career. He was the second leading scorer on the UNC team that made a surprise run to the Final Four in 2022 and was the best player on an Arizona team that reached the Sweet 16 last year. He might never have had a more highlight-packed game than what he did on Monday night, though.
