INDIANAPOLIS -- Anyone from the Detroit Lions who has spoken to reporters at the combine has talked about new running backs coach Tashard Choice as a home-run hire.
When the Detroit Lions hired Texas Longhorns running backs coach Tashard Choice, the initial reaction might have been one of surprise. After all, coach Scottie Montgomery has done an outstanding job developing David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs into the top tandem running back duo in the NFL.
Adding Choice will move Scottie Montgomery to the wide receivers coach role, an indication of how strong the organization must feel about Choice. A former NFL player who was a standout at Georgia Tech, Choice has coached several elite talents in his career to this point.
