Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has agreed to fight William Scull on May 3. Here is what we know about the bout and who Canelo will fight next.

Alvarez, 34, most recently dominated Edgar Berlanga by unanimous decision to retain his titles last September. He’s on a five-fight winning streak since losing to Dmitry Bivol in May 2022. Scull, 32, fought twice in 2024, winning unanimous decisions against Sean Hemphill and Vladimir Shishkin

Scull became champion in October with a unanimous decision win over Vladimir Shishkin. The title was available to be won after the IBF stripped Alvarez in September for failing to make face their mandatory challenger, who just so happened to be Scull. Alvarez instead fought Edgar Berlanga.

Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez are expected to lock horns in a blockbuster showdown in what could easily be the biggest fight of the year. Both fighters are considered two of the best in the world.

Terence Crawford could very well retire after the Canelo Alvarez fight, as he dismissed a move back down to junior middleweight. Crawford is a four-weight world champion, having defeated Israil Madrimov in his previous fight.
