The Rams had more yards, nearly twice as many passing yards, and outscored the Falcons 24-6 in the second half. If you skipped the game—in your defense, you were very sleepy—and woke up to that small assortment of facts, you’d assume Los Angeles destroyed Atlanta in primetime.
The Rams tied the game in the fourth quarter after trailing by 21 points, but they couldn't complete the comeback.
Seattle won the toss in overtime and elected to kick off to start the extra period. Although running back Ronnie Rivers returned the ensuing kickoff 41 yards to the Rams' 48, the Rams' return unit was called for holding, and they were forced to start the drive from their own 20 instead.
