CHARDON, Ohio -- Chardon residents will see a new company handling their trash and recycling later this year after city officials selected a locally owned firm through a competitive bidding process.

Waste management is a big one for CT: the state sends millions of tons of trash to other states, and it’s expensive. More than 40% of the state’s waste is shipped to places like Pennsylvania.

The proposed restrictions are included in wider-ranging bill before the CT legislature that addresses the management of solid waste, HB 5524.
