Holiday travel is expected to ramp up this weekend: What you should expect before hitting the roads
Travel is expected to ramp up the weekend before Christmas and last through the new year, according to AAA. In Ohio, 4.6 million people are expected to travel at least 50 miles from home to spend their holidays with family, friends or on an end-of-year getaway.
The worst traffic during Christmas week will be Monday and Tuesday, especially between 3 and 7 p.m., according to GDOT. Light traffic is expected on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and after the holiday until Dec. 28.
