Judge Frank Caprio, the jurist called " the nicest judge in the world ," died Wednesday, Aug. 20, after a battle with pancreatic cancer, his family confirmed through social media.

The funeral services for Judge Frank Caprio will take place in Providence on August 28 and 29, according to a post on Caprio's official Facebook page.

A longtime municipal judge, he became a social media star for “Caught in Providence,” which viewers said showed his compassion in the courtroom.
