Malorie Thorson, a 20-year-old college student from Waverly, Minnesota, was crowned in an evening ceremony on Wednesday, Aug.

She graduated from Peterson High School, and was very proud to be crowned the 24th Princess Kay of the Milky Way at the Minnesota State Fair, representing Winona County.

The evening before the start of this year’s Minnesota State Fair, the 70th Princess Kay of the Milky Way will be crowned. The finalist from Winona County, Riley Ward, is hoping to earn the title.

This year, two of the nine women from across Minnesota who competed to be Princess Kay of the Milky Way at the State Fair were from Stearns County.
