While 12 Sooners received All-SEC honors, some OU players believe more could have been rewarded for their outstanding seasons.

After a 10-2 season and a trip to the College Football Playoff, the Oklahoma Sooners have earned a number of postseason awards from the SEC. One of their best players earned the highest honor for his unit when kicker Tate Sandell was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Year.

The Oklahoma Sooners were given their 2026 schedule for the program’s third season in the Southeastern Conference on Thursday. It was already known what teams OU would be playing next year, but now we know when those games will take place.

Sooners rookies Courtland Guillory and Tory Blaylock each earned a spot on the Southeastern Conference postseason, but one major Sooner contributor was omitted.

The Oklahoma Sooners have had a tremendous 2025 season, earning a 10-2 record and a College Football Playoff berth for the first time since 2019. It's a veteran group on both sides of the ball, but Oklahoma wouldn't be playing postseason football without the contributions from key true freshmen on both sides of the ball.

The Sooners' fabulous 5-star rookie hasn't taken long at all for her talent to adjust to major college basketball.

But it also has some good stretches, like the non-conference games that will make them better. Also, the Sooners finally got a wrinkle they wish they had had in their first two seasons in the SEC. This year, they get to play one of the SEC's bottom dwellers.
