France is summoning U.S. Ambassador Charles Kushner after he criticized French President Emmanuel Macron's response to rising antisemitism in the country.

France summoned the American ambassador Charles Kushner after he wrote a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron alleging France had failed to do enough to stem antisemitic violence, a French foreign ministry spokesperson said on Sunday.

The new American envoy, Charles Kushner, said that France was not doing enough to protect its Jewish citizens, a charge the government in Paris said it “firmly refutes.”
