A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has come into effect after a delay of almost three hours. The three-stage truce starts the exchange of hostages held by Hamas for Palestinians in Israeli prisons.

Israel’s Cabinet approved a deal early Saturday for a ceasefire in Gaza that would release dozens of captives held there and bring a pause to the 15-month Israeli genocidal war that has devastated the Palestinian territory.
