Officer Kelsey Fitzsimmons was confronted by three officers delivering a restraining order that included a requirement that she surrender any weapons she possessed.

An off-duty North Andover police officer was shot by an officer serving a court order Monday night, officials confirmed. The “armed confrontation” took place around 6:30 p.m. Monday, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and North Andover Police Chief Charles Gray said in a joint statement.
