A nine game winning streak has come to a screeching halt as the Clemson Tigers came away with a three game sweep over the South Carolina Gamecocks. The offense was the story of the series for South Carolina.

Paul Mainieri stood on the grass of Fluor Field on Saturday — having already lost his first Palmetto series before every even facing Clemson at home — sounded like a man who lost his wallet and was prepared to trek through a sewer if that’s what it took.

Clemson continued its dominance over South Carolina with a commanding three-game sweep, capping it off with an 8-2 win on Sunday at Founder’s Park in Columbia. The Tigers have now beaten the Gamecocks five straight times and claimed the series in three of the past four seasons.
