Governor Hobbs calls for a detailed investigation into the handling of Arizona's Dragon Bravo Fire after new reports of warnings being overlooked.

The Park Service’s fire management plan called for that approach.

Reporters from the Arizona Republic allege that officials downplayed threats from the Dragon Bravo Fire, which has been burning for over a month. According to their new reporting, records show that officials minimized public safety and wind concerns before a sudden wind shift caused the fire to grow rapidly.

Park officials say conditions have improved and new air quality monitors have been installed at popular hiking locations, such as Phantom Ranch and Havasupai Gardens.

PHOENIX – Containment continues to grow incrementally on the Dragon Bravo Fire, which has been burning north of the Grand Canyon for around six weeks. There will be a community meeting on Monday, Aug. 18 at the Fredonia High School gym where the public will be allowed to submit questions to the Incident Management Team.
