Sophomore left-hander Kade Anderson earned the start and struck out eight batters in five innings. His fastball sat in the low 90s but his new slider was the standout pitch. The pitch was so good that he rarely utilizing his curveball, a strong offering in its own right.

The Youngstown State men's basketball team picked up a big win over Purdue Fort Wayne Wednesday night, 93-71. The Penguins took a 42-40 lead into halftime, but outscored the Mastodons by 20 in the second half. YSU shot 50% from the field and got 32 points from their bench.
