Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has called for an investigation of Paramount Global’s settlement of Donald Trump’s 60 Minutes lawsuit, while vowing to introduce legislation that “rein in corruption” via donations to presidential libraries.

Film giant Paramount Global reached a settlement with U.S. President Donald Trump, who sued CBS News for $20 billion over editing of a 60 Minutes interview with his Democratic opponent, then-Vice President Kamala Harris.

Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren castigated Paramount Global for its announced $16 million payment to President Trump to settle a “meritless” lawsuit — and said the parent company of CBS “should be ashamed of putting its profits over independent journalism.
