A tornado warning for southeastern Guthrie County was allowed to expire as planned for 12:15 a.m. Friday. According to the National Weather Service, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Casey at 11:45 p.m., moving east at 35 mph.

After severe weather and heavy rain on Thursday, more storms are headed for Iowa on Friday afternoon prompting a tornado watch and flood watch.

A risk for thunderstorms will redevelop on Sunday as a cold front pushes into an unstable atmosphere across southern Ontario. The storms will develop inland and track through the Greater Toronto Area and into eastern Ontario. Some of Sunday’s storms could turn severe.
