They did. We usually watched WWE (née WWF) and WCW was less common. People have to remember there weren’t as many channels. Even with cable, there weren’t the guides and menus we have now so finding WCW was almost a fun surprise. Speaking of rawness, ECW in the late 90s had it. The controls are pretty easy but I can't for the life of me figure out finishers and no where online actually tells you what button it is. The closest I've found is "finisher button" so if anyone knows for ps1 it would be a big help!

In fact it’s entirely possible wwe was making more money than wcw during 96-97 because wcws finances were wrapped up in other stuff, for example Hogan didn’t have a wcw contract he had a turner contract which included thunder in paradise and a couple movies. I believe savage had his contract tied with turner too.
