Absolutely incredible find!!! These USA buttons are super rare to dig as they were only used for a few years by the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. They also weren't universally worn as very limited quantities were available so often their uniforms simply had civilian buttons. There are a handful of variants, but they were all crudely cast in pewter and feature "USA' in intertwined letters. This one was in an advanced state of crumbling and I'm fortunate to have found it
