This is my skin on frame kayak de-watering and re-entry technique. I can do this in a medium volume Greenland kayak in mild conditions, and in one of my modern kayaks in moderately rough conditions. . I finally found a plastic foot brace solution for Greenland kayaks that I don’t hate. The technical problem is that in such limited foot space you generally either have space for foot braces or your feet but not both. (not an issue on my modern designs where there is plenty of room) For this reason I’ve always gone the traditional route which is just a wooden bar or nothing at all, which works well but it requires precise fitting and doesn’t allow for multiple users. . necessity breeds innovatio
