Our second graders are learning all about insects by sculpting their own! This cross-curricular art and science project uses air dry clay, armature wire, pipe cleaners, paint, Mod Podge, and of course… glitter (because no bug is complete without a little sparkle). Students explore form, texture, symmetry, and basic insect body parts like head, thorax, abdomen, legs, antennae, and sometimes… artistic license. This project brings STEAM learning to life and gives students a hands-on way to connect
