Remembering Deputy John Bananola Thirty years ago, on October 16, 1995, Deputy John Bananola made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while serving the citizens of Pierce County. Earlier this morning, LASD Personnel Administration Bureau hosted a Halloween themed “Pups-n-Cups” party where therapy dogs were able to show off their costumes and engage with department members. The Sheriff’s Department recognizes the importance of therapy dogs and the love, support, and comfort they provide for personnel and members of the public who may have experienced a recent trauma. Today these dogs brought plenty of smiles and a moment to relieve stress from daily duties. | Los Angeles
