High winds have been coming across Lake Erie since late morning, causing a seiche (pronounced “say-sh”) and exposing large portions of the lake bed along Lake Erie in Ohio. The lake level is estimated to go down by 20” or more today. Because the winds are pushing the water from the north basin to the east basin, areas like Toledo and Port Clinton will see more exposed beach but water levels will rise by as much on the eastern end of Lake Erie towards.
