If you can't spark your own protocells, rainfall is fine. 🧑🏻🍳 Saturn's moon Titan has many of the carbon-based building blocks of life and surprising Earth-like lakes — if you swapped Earth's water for super-chilled methane, that is. Altogether, this makes Titan an intriguing place to look for cell membranes like life has on Earth. But previous NASA research suggested that a crucial ingredient was missing from the recipe: an additional spark of energy to trigger the membrane's formation. Now

Dino Guy on Instagram: "Nanotyrannus is back?! Of course, there is more evidence that was presented with this (all of it pretty dang solid) but these were some of the main points. #dinosaur #dino #paleontology #nanotyrannus #prehistory #trex"

Space | Science | Astronomy | Technology on Instagram: "New NASA research suggests that Saturn’s moon Titan could naturally produce bubble-like compartments known as vesicles-important precursors of living cells. These findings deepen our interest in exploring Titan to better understand the chemistry that can lead to life. Until now, scientists weren’t sure vesicles could form there, since an essential energy source seemed to be missing. The new study points to Titan’s rainfall as the potential

Scientific American on Instagram: "Towering Prototaxites ruled Earth before trees—and they may have been a form of life entirely new to science. New research argues that the ancient organism doesn’t fit into our existing taxonomic hierarchy and may instead be a member of a brand new kingdom. 🦖 Big news about a ‘little’ tyrant: new research finds that Nanotyrannus wasn’t a baby T. rex after all! Through examining the throat bone of the Nanotyrannus, researchers found that while smaller, the species was a fully grown and distinct predator during its time. Paleo Prairie on Instagram: "Big news in paleontology — Nanotyrannus has been confirmed as its own species! I’ll be honest, I was on Team Juvenile T. rex… but this is science, and data wins. 🔬 That’s what makes discovery so exciting — we’re always learning. #dinosaur #nanotyrannus #trex #tyrannosaur #paleontology #geology #comeback #fossilhunting"

🎙️ Spaceflight & Epigenetic Plasticity Four astronauts on a nine-day Axiom II mission had their DNA methylation tracked using 32 epigenetic clocks. In orbit, methylation increased, then partially or fully reversed after returning to Earth 🛰️🧬. This shows our epigenetic markers are highly dynamic and respond rapidly to environmental stress, highlighting remarkable biological plasticity. Full Episode on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcast. Prehistoric Dinosaur Hub on Instagram: "New research on more than 200 tyrannosaur fossils suggests that Nanotyrannus was not a juvenile T. rex but a separate species. The “Dueling Dinosaurs” specimen showed a roughly 20-year-old animal that was fully mature yet much smaller than T. rex. Its anatomy—larger arms, more teeth, longer legs, a shorter tail, and a unique sinus cavity—doesn’t match the growth stages of T. rex. If confirmed, this means a smaller, faster tyrannosaur lived alongside T. rex
